What services do you offer/Needs that you meet for your clients?
WCCA provides work information, networking opportunities, advocacy, and training to construction-related businesses over 27 counties. A HUGE part of being an information hub for 27 counties is access to information. Our communications is what keep the association running like an intricate machine.
What would you say is the spirit animal of the company?
WCCA’s spirit animal would be the duck. The staff and board do everything they can to seem like the association hums along in the best way possible… no one sees our feet paddling like crazy!
What is the biggest change you’ve seen in the industry over the last five years?
Our industry, as well as others, changed about 6 years ago when all plans for buildings and infrastructure were starting to become digital. The need for everything online sped up the pace of business and projects getting done. In 2023 we printed out approximately 6 plans whereas in 2015 we were printing out at least 300 per year. Then during the pandemic, online meetings opened a door for convening across the state widening the footprint of how and where our construction communities did business. Our on line and communications support is the blood of our business that keeps us going as a service.
Best part of being part of the community?
Everyone is your neighbor, a business, individuals all pulling for the same purpose. Grand Junction has one of largest non-profit bases in Colorado and the community tirelessly works on collective growth and betterment.
