The Desire for Instant Gratification
Think of the last time you put money into a vending machine…you immediately got the item you paid for. Most business owners assume that marketing works the same way. It seldom does. In today’s world we are expecting instant gratification from everything: fast food, a webpage loading, even waiting for the light to change at the stoplight. Marketing does not and will never work this way. If you are looking for instant gratification in your marketing be prepared to spend a lot of money and deeply discount your product, and have very few returning customers. If this doesn’t sound like something you want to do, play the long game and be patient.
